Aperitivo At The Hilton City Centre
Perfect for budget-conscious diners
I am a big fan of Aperitivo, which is the Italian pre-dinner drink ritual where people enjoy some drinks and light snacks before having their main meal. The word comes from aprire which means "to open" as in to open the appetite. I think the main difference between Aperitivo and normal pre-dinner drinking or happy hour is the inclusion of some light food, something I fully support.
The Hilton City (formerly Nikko Hotel) near my home has an Italian restaurant (rather oddly) called Osteria Twelve 16. There are too many great Italian options to choose from so I have never eaten here. However, my interest was immediately peaked when I saw they were doing an Aperitivo deal for 108 RMB.
It runs Monday to Sunday (weekends included). You get UNLIMITED pours of red wine, white wine, Prosecco, do it yourself cocktails and beer and you also help yourself to light snacks such as ham, cheese, panini, fruit and desserts.
Although this is intended as a pre-dinner event, being a light eater, both my wife and I treated this as an early dinner on our last visit, which for the price, is a steal! The ambiance may not be great, but this is still highly recommended for the budget conscious.
The deal can be found on the Dianping app, but I am sure they can also arrange it for you onsite if you have any issues. It was a monthly offer that expired 31st August 2025, but I noticed they have now extended the promotion until 31st December 2025, so there's plenty of time.
