Brand New Chicken Broth Ramen

Former location of Co Cheese

The closure of what was once the best grilled cheese venue in Shanghai hit hard and the void has not yet been filled, but the good news is that out of the ashes has sprung a brand new chicken broth ramen shop. Chef Hajime San is behind this project, a modest-sized noodle shop with about 5 tables as well as bar seating for around 10 diners.

Pork rice bowl

The menu for now at least, is fairly simple, but I am never a fan of being overwhelmed by choices, so it suits me perfectly. We went for the chicken broth ramen set and the soy sauce ramen set which come with a small bowl of delicious rice with pork and seaweed.

The noodes come in a pretty standard ramen bowl with the usual accompaniments - bamboo shoots, soft boiled egg, various garnishes (shredded cabbage, green onions) and slices of meat. I would recommend the chicken broth which was rich and full of flavour, but the soy sauce broth was also delicious.

Chicken broth ramen

I hear they will extend opening hours to include late night dining, but for now I believe it is open just in the daytime (the official opening was just a few days ago, 2nd July 2025).

Bar seating great for solo diners

Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area (just behind IAPM mall).
